Life on Long Island

There’s always something happening on Long Island but most people get comfortable lounging around the house on a lazy Sunday afternoon.  Now there’s certainly nothing wrong with a little relaxation time but have you ever heard the saying “too much of a good thing is bad?”  Don’t waste whats left of your summer watching television.  That’s what winter is for.  Why not explore Long Island Pet Expo, at Tanner Park in Copiague, Saturday September 13 through Sunday September 14 from 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM?  Admission is free featuring demonstrations and programs, agility training, Diana Frohman and her “dancing” Golden Retrievers, and Dan Huebner’s Disc Dogs.

Another exciting event you don’t want to miss is the Nesconset Day Crafts and Street Fair at Nesconset Plaza on Sunday September 7 from 10:00 AM – 05:00 PM.  Enjoy more than 200 arts and crafts vendors, grab some grub, and enjoy some live music.  There’s also pony rides, games, carnival rides, and a petting zoo so don’t forget to bring the kids along for a fun day in the sun!
