So Summer is coming to an end and will be officially over once Fall starts on September 23rd. What better way to welcome in the new season than going to a Fall festival?
Two events that I came across are both Fall festivals.
The first is the Hallockville Fall Festival. It is on Saturday 9/13 from 10am-5pm and Sunday 9/14 from 10am-5pm. It will be held at Hallockville Museum Farm in Riverhead. It costs $8 for adults, $5 for kids ages 5-12, and free for kids 4 and younger. There will be artisan vendors, music, food, games for the kids, animals, crafts, and even tours of historic homes in the area dating from 1765-1937.
Another festival is the Apple Festival right in Stony Brook at Stony Brook Community Church. It is also on Saturday 9/13 and admission is free. There will be homemade apple pies, apple crisp, apple fritters, and other baked goods. There will be plenty of fun for kids such as pony rides, moonwalk, a giant slide, face painting, as well as games and prizes. Vendors will be there with crafts, collectibles, and new merchandise and everyone will be entertained with live music.
