Pictures truly are worth a million words

Kashmir is located in the northwestern region of the Indian subcontinent.

I am an avid reader of Buzzfeed, so I found it fitting to find a story with compelling photos from it.

I clicked on this article because I actually was unaware of this very life-threatening crisis on the other side of the world. As I have never been to Kashmir, nor have I ever experienced a monsoon season, just reading a story about the floods would not mean too much to me.

The pictures that accompany this story really drive home the devastation to me and puts reality to the words. Even though I’ve never experienced something like this, I can fully grasp the tragedy and danger because of the pictures. Which I believe, at the end of the day, is what every photojournalist aims to achieve.
